CTRL+ALT+DEL What’s No Longer Aligned

While last week I shared about my commitment to go “all in” on the things most important to me, it was a journey to get to that point.

2025 started with a burst of energy, enthusiasm, and excitement. I had big plans to launch all the things this year. But as the weeks passed, something surprising happened—my almost-aggressive enthusiasm began to wane. I found myself pulled in fewer directions, deleting posts, shelving ideas, and even letting go of new business offerings I’d been planning in late 2024.

And you know what? I’m here for it.

My dear friend Lori with Mindful Return recently shared her word of the year: subtraction. Her philosophy is simple but profound—how can we do more with less? This means fewer commitments, streamlined schedules, and creative ways to make room for rest, deeper connections, and focus on the areas that energize us most.

This shift caught me off guard because, for me, 2025 was supposed to be the year of launching. Yet, here I am, leaning into this unexpected pull toward alignment and simplification. As I’ve written before, tuning into your energy and pivoting as needed is a powerful practice.

I have a long-standing habit of overscheduling myself—overcommitting and then muscling through everything while whispering promises to myself: Next time, I’ll say no to more.

Well, it turns out 2025 is my “next time.”

This year, instead of committing to “all the things,” I’m streamlining my focus. I’m leaning into my author life and inspiring soulful leadership through my teaching and coaching. And the rest—it can wait.

So, I ask you:

  • What could you delete from your life to free up energy for what truly matters?

  • What no longer feels aligned or inspired?

  • What would it look like to say no or even not now to create more spaciousness in your days?

This is a new experiment for me, and I’d love to hear your thoughts. How are you making room for what energizes and aligns with your values?

I’m cheering you on, because the world needs who you were made to be.
